GOP Prepares for "Bitter" Fight Against Obama

The New Mexico Republican Party is fielding an ad in rural southern New Mexico that plays off of Barack Obama's comments on April 11 about the bitterness felt by some rural Pennsylvanians over economic issues.  Obama suggested that the bitterness could lead some Pennsylvanians to support hot button issues that have little meaning to their lives.  What Obama said can be heard here.

Re: GOP Prepares (none / 0)

Obama is the presumed Democratic nominee, that's why the repugs are starting to target him. Do you think that they would have NO ammunition to throw against  the Clinton's if they wanted to?

Negative GOP Ads (none / 0)

Today, Thom Hartman played an ant-Obama ad being run in North Carolina. It's the first ad featuring Jeremiah Wright's "God damn America" speech interlaced with something like "Is Obama who you want for President?" While I expected to see and hear ads like this, I must admit it was very unsettling. I predict it will fire up the Republican base and those susceptible to the terrorism and patriotism cards. If Obama's the nominee, what kind of counter punch can Democrats use?

Re: Negative GOP Ads (none / 0)

People who had the slightest chance of voting Obama are SO sick of the Wright nonsense. Obama has answered that charge ad nauseum.

This is mostly just GOP masturbation.

Obama counterpunch (none / 0)

Democrats can fire up their own base by replaying McBush's promise to stay in Iraq for 100 years.

In short, stop being afraid of what Republicans will do to Obama and start thinking about what Democrats are going to do to McSame.

Cowardly Fraidycrats are yesterday's Democrats.

Re: And you're surprised? (2.00 / 1)

I don't see what is "steady trollin" about what he said. The fact is, we haven't seen anything yet when it comes to negative campaigning from the GOP. If Obama wins the nomination, Clinton has done him a great service, but she hasn't done anything close to what McCain and the GOP are doing and will do. Before you say it, no, I'm not a "concern" troll. There are some unsettling facts we have to face. Unfortunately, it's a different set of facts depending on which of our candidates wins the nomination.

And do you want to see the list of new poo on deck that they'll use on Clinton? Because I have it onhand, and it's hardly comprehensive..

Re: And you're surprised? (none / 0)

I agree. Any Dem we nominate is going to get swift-boated badly. Would be the same with Biden, Dodd, Kucinich, Richardson, Edwards, Clinton, Obama - anybody. We have to expect that. Repugs are slime-balls.

GOP "Lovefest" Against Clinton? (none / 0)

When Democrats choose their candidates based on fear of GOP attacks, they deserve to lose.
